The chase lasted almost an hour.
It took almost an hour for the Modesto County Police Department in California to capture the emu ostrich. The police department announced this on its account on the social network, Ukr.Media informs.
Law enforcement officers responded to reports of a "roaming emu creating a danger on the road" in the city, and they arrived to find the flightless bird running along a busy freeway.
An hour later, the ostrich was caught and returned to its owner. The bird enclosure has reportedly been fortified to prevent a repeat incident.
