According to the portal “Wirtualna Polska”, Maciej Kossowski died in New York at the age of 85. His hits “Twenty-Years” or “Holidays with a Blonde” hummed entire generations of Poles. The artist emigrated to the United States in the late 1960s.

The information about the death of Maciej Kossowski was provided by one of the Polish immigrants in the US magazine by the artist's neighbor – Paul Redelat. In a letter sent to the editorial office, the man revealed that he had known Kossakowski for three decades because they were neighbors.
The Redelate indicated that Maciej Kossowski died on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at around 1 p.m. in the New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The singer's neighbor added that Kossowski died alone, without friends and family. It turns out that Redelat was the only person with whom the singer had contact.
Paul Redelat was also the only person who visited Kossowski in the hospital. “(…) this is a man who was once loved and admired by hundreds of thousands of people in Poland for his music in the 1960s and 1970s, and here he dies alone” – he admitted in the aforementioned letter.
