How much to donate at Christmas time?
As the “Goniec” portal reminds, carol visits have started. Clergy visit their faithful in their homes. On the occasion of Christmas carols, the theme of sacrifices made during them returns. It should be reminded that making donations is voluntary, which means that no clergyman should impose neither the need to transfer funds, nor the amount. It turns out, however, that many priests ignore the voluntary donations. This was the case, e.g. in the case of a priest from Koniecpol.
Carols go on
During Christmas, priests visit their faithful as part of the so-called. carols. These meetings are aimed at getting to know the parishioners better, their pains and worries. During the visit, there is a common prayer and blessing of the house. Some believers on the occasion of Christmas carols decide to make a donation. In principle, it should be voluntary.
Unfortunately, there are still many priests who not only impose the need to make a donation, but also indicate how much it should be. This was the case with the clergyman from Koniecpol.

The priest from Koniecpol indicated that he counted on donations in the amount of PLN 150. Donations in this amount are to be used for “further renovation work at the church.” Interestingly, the priest asks for a donation not only from believers, but also from people whose “faith has cooled down or has not yet been kindled, or declaring themselves non-believers and non-practicing”.
From a survey conducted According to the “Onet” portal, as many as 35 percent. respondents are of the opinion that it is not necessary to make sacrifices during the Christmas carol. For 12 percent of respondents there is no amount that should or should not be in the envelope. 12.8 percent survey participants give up to PLN 50, slightly less, because 12 percent. equals PLN 50.
