The prosecutor's office filed an appeal against the acquittal on the case of artist and activist Yulia Tsvetkova*, who was accused of distributing pornography. This was reported by the telegram channel “I/We are Yulia Tsvetkova*”.
Yesterday, July 21, the prosecutor's office filed an appeal against Tsvetkova's acquittal. The date of the new trial is not yet known. Three years later, the case goes on another new circle. And the danger has not passed. Despite the decision of the court of first instance, Yulia can still be imprisoned,
— says in the post.
Last week, the Central District Court of Komsomolsk-on-Amur acquitted Yulia, but the prosecutor's office had the right to appeal this decision within 10 days, which she did.
It is possible that now is the most dangerous time in all three years of the trial and consequences. Protection resources are running out, Yulia and her relatives have little strength, there is less and less support and publicity. And the resources of the state are unlimited, and the prosecutor's office really wants to protect the “honor of the uniform”,
— Julia's supporters are afraid.
The criminal case against the artist was opened in 2019. The basis was the drawings of Julia, which, among other things, depicted a naked female body. The artist's works were mainly devoted to feminism and body positivity. Tsvetkova was also accused of promoting LGBT people, a topic she also touched upon in her works: she was fined twice for “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations among minors”.

In June 2022, Yulia was added to the media register — foreign agents, which she herself learned from the news. The activist told the press that because of the proceedings she found herself in “complete isolation”, and her life was “completely destroyed”.
