
The RCMP makes a major weapons seizure in Vaudreuil-Dorion
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) unveiled the results of a large firearms seizure that occurred three months ago on Thursday by announcing the appearance of two alleged arms traffickers on Friday, at the Valleyfield courthouse.
29-year-old Jordan Madden and 31-year-old Joshua Madden of Vaudreuil-Dorion face seven related charges trafficking, transfer, possession and storage of firearms.
It was after a year of investigation that officers from the RCMP's Integrated National Security Team (INSET) raided the two men's home on November 30 to discover 37 firearms. fire, weapon parts, military accessories, more than 10,000 ammunition and some 200 high capacity magazines.
The RCMP specifies that everything was accompanied by associated equipment to far-right ideologies.
The investigation was initiated in November 2022 after Canadian customs officers intercepted a package intended for the two suspects. With the cooperation of Canada Post, the RCMP was able to look into a sequence of parcel shipments that came from firearms and military equipment stores, among others.
Surprisingly, the two men were sourcing from various online platforms not only from illegal sellers but also from legitimate companies internationally.
