The famous Peugeot 205 GTi got a second life. The popular '80s hot hatchback is back in production in the UK and is selling for £55,000 ($65,000). This is reported by the official website of the manufacturer.
Tolman Engineering undertook to revive the Peugeot 205 GTi, and the car was finalized. Visually, nothing gives a remake, but its “stuffing” is modernized.
The body of the Peugeot 205 GTi undergoes anti-corrosion treatment and receives a special ceramic coating. The interior has a new seat trim, and the steering wheel was sheathed in Alcantara. An on-board computer display appeared on the instrument panel, and the equipment was replenished with a central lock and modern Blaupunkt acoustics with Bluetooth.
The power of the 1.9-liter engine has been increased from 128 to 200 hp. With. thanks to new camshafts, exhaust and electronic control unit. The 5-speed manual transmission has been improved and runs smoother.
The new Peugeot 205 GTi is not only noticeably faster, but also handles better. It received a self-locking differential, the steering was reconfigured, and stabilizers were replaced in the suspension and Bilstein adjustable shock absorbers were installed. Modern brakes from AP Racing slow down the hatchback.
