On November 12, two buildings in the center of the city collapsed in the center of Lille in northern France. So far, there are no reports that anyone has died as a result of the incident. Thanks to a message from a local resident, rescuers managed to evacuate all the residents before the houses collapsed, writes Euronews.

French rescuers pulled one person out of the rubble, who received only minor injuries, but another person may still be under the rubble. The rescue operation continues, although the city authorities said that there were no dead yet.

Two high-rise buildings collapsed on the morning of November 12 in the center of Lille, which is located in northern France near the border with Belgium. But rescuers managed to evacuate all the residents of the houses before the buildings collapsed, thanks to the message of one of the local residents.

The man was returning from a walk, and at 3 o'clock in the morning he noticed cracks on the surface of buildings. He immediately reported this to the local authorities. Firefighters went to the scene, cordoned off the area and evacuated people.

According to the mayor of the city, Martin Aubrey, the sharp look of a man, whose name is not called, saved the lives of dozens of people.

“If this person did not come home at 3 am and contact us, we would not have been able to quickly respond to the situation and this would lead to dozens of deaths,” says Aubrey.

So far, the reasons for the destruction of buildings are being installed, but rescuers have already checked neighboring houses for cracks.

In 2018, two dilapidated buildings fell in the city of Marseille in southern France, killing eight people and drawing sharp criticism from local authorities and the French government.

As Focus wrote earlier, one of the residents of the state of California, USA, told the authorities that his house was destroyed by a meteorite. But scientists said that this cannot be.
