The trial of ex-Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard will take place in the fall of 2023

Former fashion mogul Peter Nygard's sexual assault trial will begin September 11, 2023 in Ontario Superior Court at the Toronto Courthouse.
Peter Nygard was not present in court this time for his hybrid hearing which lasted only 5 minutes on Monday at the downtown courthouse.< /p>
The Crown has only confirmed the dates that were cleared between the two parties at a previous pre-trial conference. The trial is expected to last two and a half months.
The 81-year-old businessman had already chosen a trial by jury after ;a brief appearance earlier this year.

Peter Nygard is charged with 11 counts of sexual assault and forcible confinement. The plaintiffs' allegations are said to have arisen more than 20 years ago in his Toronto workshop.
He will have to appear again on October 21 for the rest of the legal proceedings initiated against him.< /p>
He will remain imprisoned at the Toronto South Detention Centre, where he has been held since his transfer from Manitoba in October 2021.
Two news charges had been added earlier this year to the first 9 concerning two new complainants. The nature of the charges had not been specified, like all the others.
