The structure was discovered at a depth of about 7 meters.
A bunker from the Second World War was discovered by Polish archaeologists. The historical monument appeared during the construction of an underground parking lot in the city of Lublin, Ukr.Media informs.
The outlines of the underground structure appeared when the builders began to raise the soil. The bunker was located about seven meters below ground level. The wooden structure consisted of a ladder leading to three corridors. A large number of artifacts were also discovered at the site, which clearly indicate that 80 years ago battles were fought here.
Near the bunker, archaeologists found shell casings — both German and Red Army weapons. On the basis of this, the scientists concluded that there were fierce battles at this place. At the site of the bunker itself, several bottles of mineral water produced in Germany and the Czech Republic, as well as a German ammunition warehouse, were discovered.
According to archaeologists, the largest clashes between the Wehrmacht and the Red Army in this place took place in 1944.
After construction workers discovered the remains of the bunker, work was suspended. Firstly, this is due to the fact that archaeologists must raise historical values, secondly, there may be projectiles on the site, which, if necessary, will be destroyed by special services.
