“AvtoVAZ” again cuts the equipment of its models. The shortage of components forces us to abandon a number of options and narrow the palette of available body colors. It is reported by RCI News.
In particular, the base Lada Granta has lost its central lock. Stocks of parts for this simple option in warehouses are small, so it will only be offered to more expensive versions of the model. A car with an ordinary lock will be cheaper by $40.
Next in line is power steering, which will also disappear from the base equipment. There is an acute shortage of this part at AvtoVAZ, and about 7-8 thousand understaffed Lada Grantas have already accumulated in the warehouses of the enterprise.

For this reason, at least until the end of January, all Lada Granta will be produced exclusively in black, and Lada Niva Travel – only in dark green.
In January, about 5,000 black Lada Grantas were produced. Cars of other colors can be ordered through the configurator, but their delivery will take a long time.
According to the AvtoVAZ trade union organization, a number of other parts were also found to be incomplete at the plant. In particular, there are not enough door handles and trunk locks.
