These 10 Google Pixel smartphones will be able to identify unknown numbers for you

Regularly, Google announces new features reserved for its Pixel smartphones. And this week, the Mountain View firm presented the series of new products for the month of June. Among these new features, there is a very practical feature that will help you identify a number that you have called or that has called you. And this is integrated directly into the call history. So if you receive a call from a number you don't know, you can try to identify the caller without having to copy that number to search on another app.

Google does not provide details on the database that powers this feature. On the other hand, the firm indicates that the functionality will be offered on the Pixel Fold and the Pixel 6, as well as more recent models. The Google Pixel smartphones affected by this update are therefore the following models& ;nbsp;: Pixel 8a, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel Fold. Regarding availability, new features announced by Google are already being deployed. And the firm does not mention geographic restrictions for the identification of unknown numbers, which means that this functionality should be accessible everywhere, and not just in the United States.

Other very interesting new features

Google also announced the arrival of Gemini Nano, a lightweight version of Gemini that is capable of running locally, on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a. However, you will have to enter the developer options to activate the model. Until now, only the Pixel 8 Pro was compatible with Gemini Nano. This simplified model could, for example, be used to summarize the transcriptions of voice notes recorded on the smartphone.

Otherwise, the Pixel 8a, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro also support streaming smartphone content to a large screen, via a simple USB cable. The company also announced new features for the camera and gallery, as well as improvements for Pixel Watches.

  • Google has just announced the June feature drop for its Pixel devices
  • This new series includes a feature that will help you identify unknown numbers directly from the call history
  • The firm also announces the availability of its Gemini Nano model, a lite version that works locally, on the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8a (this model was until now reserved for the Pixel 8 Pro)
