They perform facelifts at unbeatable prices: three complaints filed against fake cosmetic surgeons

The main national union of plastic and cosmetic surgery will file a complaint against fake surgeons who perform cosmetic surgery without a diploma and at low prices. They attract their customers on social networks by praising the merits of certain surgeries.

The main national union of plastic and cosmetic surgery (SNCPRE) has filed three criminal complaints against fake cosmetic surgeons “for illegal practice of medicine”, reports France 3.The SNCPRE was alerted by TikTok and Instagram videos that praise the merits of the “Korean facelift”, the “Lemon Bottle” or the “BBL”.

Low-cost cosmetic procedures are increasingly carried out by a practitioner without a recognized diploma, from a hotel room or apartment.

“A major public health problem”

These procedures can have dramatic consequences on the health of clients. A member of the SNCPRE board mentions the implementation of'”a major public health problem.” “The real problem is sterility”, says Dr. Christophe Desouches, a Marseille practitioner and member of the SNCPRE board, who is particularly concerned about “Korean facelifts”.

A product banned in France

Some products used to perform surgeries are banned in France. The product used for the “Lemon Bottle” comes in the form of a yellow solution that is supposed to dissolve fat. This product has been banned in France since 2011 because there have been many complications.

2 years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros

Given the scale of the risks, the SNCPRE has decided to file three criminal complaints for illegal practice of medicine. An offense punishable by two years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros.
