IN BRIEF

  • She shared a significant modeling experience at the age of 14.
  • Laurence Arné was able to say “stop” to uncomfortable situations, demonstrating her strength of character and her luck in avoiding negative experiences in her acting career.

On the occasion of her return to the stage at the Michodière Théâtre at Paris, in the play Mur/Mure, by Lilou Fogli and Jérémie Lippmann, Laurence Arné answered questions from our colleagues from the Tribune du dimanche, on January 12, 2025. During the interview, the actress looked back on her childhood marked by her family life with her two older sisters.

She was also raised with important values such as independence and hard work. In fact, when she was only 14, she remembered having to pose for a photographer. “I did a bit of modeling in Angoulême but it really wasn't for me because my image was a bit out of my control,” she explained at first.

Laurence Arné: “I still found myself at 14 years old topless”

Recently, I came across photos from my first shoot. I still found myself at 14 years old topless, from behind in the photographer's studio. And what's crazy is that my mother had no awareness of the potential danger in leaving me alone with an adult“, she recalled. While in hindsight she realizes that this session could have gone very badly, she didn't feel the need to talk about it to her parents.

When my mother saw the photos, she found them super beautiful! My grandparents, a very old-France Bordeaux family, were offended by it. My mother told them that they had not understood anything and that they had to see the 'rock' side. Maos today, I realize that they were the ones who were right to be shocked, because frankly, the photos were really sordid“, she added.

Laurence Arné had enough courage to say “stop”

Unlike other young models her age, she had the strength of character to say “stop”. She knows she was lucky not to have é was taken by a photographer to a dark or isolated place. She knows that it can be very difficult to say no to an adult when you're still a young teenager.

In her career as an actress, she considers herself lucky to have, once again, never had to deal with very difficult situations to handle on film sets. She doesn't like working in violence.
