This is disturbing news for the Church. This signal cannot be underestimated
In Lodz, half of the students gave up religion lessons.
According to the “Super Express” portal, more than half of the students in Łódź decided to give up religion lessons. Most dropouts are recorded in secondary schools, although the number is growing rapidly in primary schools.
Fewer and fewer students in religion
Fewer and fewer students are attending religion lessons. Last year, 44 percent of students said they would drop out of these classes. At the moment, it is already about 50 percent. In secondary education, the percentage of students participating in religious education is even lower, at just 21 percent. In the basics it is a bit better, but the downtrend is visible there as well.
More and more students choose ethics classes instead of religion lessons. The Minister of Education and Science announces that voluntary attendance of ethics will be replaced by an obligation for those who choose not to study religion.
The crisis can also be seen in seminaries

There are also fewer and fewer believers in churches. Research conducted by CBOS in May 2022 shows that the number of people regularly attending church has decreased after the coronavirus epidemic. Regularly only 37 Poles participated in the services. For comparison, in 2020 this percentage reached 46%.
It is worth noting, however that the downward trend was in evidence even before the coronavirus pandemic. In 2018, 49 percent declared weekly participation in the Holy Mass. Pole & oacute; w.
