When he went to the Reventin-Vaugris toll (Isère), on the A7 motorway at the wheel of his Audi A3, he entered the lane reserved for electronic toll subscribers, without a badge… When he called for assistance, he then assured that he had forgotten it. “For safety”, the officer did not ask him to back up and then opened the barrier.

A loss of more than 300 euros

“They opened the barrier for him, asking him to pay the amount. He had to put the money in a small box. Instead, he would put a few cents or sometimes kind words in it”, explains Vinci. He is said to have done this 25 times for an estimated loss of 308.41 euros, according to Ouest-France.

He was tried in the criminal court for fraud, failure to pay the toll and driving without a license. He was fined €1,000 and €250. He will also have to reimburse Vinci.
