Gatherings all over Belgium, circles drawn on the ground and a cry of despair, that of the 3 million young people who inhabit our country and who are directly impacted by the measures intended to stem the spread of Covid-19. The operation “Trace your circle”, which takes place this Sunday February 14 from 11 am aims to inform Belgian leaders of the distress of the under 18s but also of higher education students, deprived of social contact.

In peace, respecting health measures but above all with a lot of hope to be heard, several thousand Belgians, who have already indicated that they are participating on the event’s Facebook page created for the occasion. Masked and provided with chalk, a color spray, pebbles or even sand, they will trace from 11 a.m. a circle of 1.5 meters around them in more than 150 places in Belgium, in support of young people who “have radically changed lives to save others “.

Our dark youth

The objective of this movement, which undoubtedly has a variation near you, is to send a message to the government, at the origin of the measures to detain the coronavirus in our borders. On the official event of the mobilization action, Philippe de Menten, father and initiator of the movement explains that the purpose of the mobilization is that young people, students and interns “can find 100% face-to-face training and studies with all their teachers whom they appreciate and support, that youth movements and all sports are open to them without any restriction, that they can meet and make contacts essential to their development and their future life, that companies can once again welcome them, train them, give them a taste for risk and initiative.

If originally, the organizers asked each participant to go to a place near their home, given the scale of local events, a map has been put in place to identify all the places where gatherings will take place. .

The solidarity of our society must now be oriented towards them. And finally because hundreds of mental health specialists, education officials and doctors have noted the state of emergency: our dark youth“, pleads Philippe de Menten on Facebook.
