Chris Hemsworth recently made some ambiguous claims about his iconic role as Thor in the MCU. Fans are worried!
Chris Hemsworth has, through the character of Thor, become a fan-favorite superhero. The actor, soon to be back on the big screen in Thor: Love & Thunder, had already mentioned having lost a little interest in interpreting the god of Thunder. But that was before Taika Waititi took over Thor: Ragnarok. The slightly offbeat, but above all ultra-energetic vision of the director had brought a serious boost to the adventures of the Asgardian god. At the same time, Chris Hemsworth had found a taste for putting on the costume of Thor. However, the actor recently, speaking of Thor: Love & Thunder makes ambiguous statements, to say the least.
Chris Hemsworth revealed: “Itmight be my last Marvel movie, I don't know”, referring to Thor: Love & Thunder. “It was a crazy, funny and quirky experience, like the films of Taika Waititi”, he acknowledged. “I love playing Thor. I have done it for years and will continue to do so if asked”, explains Chris Hemsworth. There is little doubt that the public and the fans are expecting more adventures. On the other hand, the mystery remains whole on the Marvel side. The arrival of new characters could indeed reshuffle the cards of the game. The oldest superheroes have already been seen passing the baton as was the case for Captain America or seems to be drawing for Hawkeye.
Chris Hemsworth is ready to continue, but nothing is written yet!
Chris Hemsworth will thus be dependent on Marvel's decisions (and undoubtedly the box office results). It's entirely possible, with Jane (Natalie Portman) returning as Mighty Thor, that Thor himself will step down as Asgard's protector. Theories are flying among fans who would see him as the God of gods. A development that could have some logic in the fight against Gorr. As Chris Hemsworth puts it: “the biggest challenge every time is to reinvent yourself and not become predictable to the audience or deja vu. It’s a challenge, but that’s also what’s exciting!”. It remains to cross our fingers so that the screenwriters are overflowing with creativity and, it must be admitted, that directors as brilliant as Taika Waititi remain at the controls to avoid falling into the “superheroic” routine!
