
Three stabbed and one arrest at N.S. high school
Containment measures have been put in place at the Charles P. Allen High School in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Monday morning after three people were stabbed.
Halifax Regional Police arrested a student after responding to a call for a weapon at Charles P. Allen High School on Monday morning.
Acting Information Officer Nicolas Gagnon confirms that there are injuries, but that there is no longer any danger.
We have arrested a person, explains the Halifax Regional Police spokesperson. We ask people to stay out of the area, but there is no threat to public safety.
Officers found three people who had been stabbed and they were taken to hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
Videos taken by students from the school show two adults being transported to the x27;hospital by ambulance and one person arrested outside of school.
The Halifax Regional Education Center says the The school has been placed in lockdown and secured.
All students are safe and there are currently no threats to public safety, a letter to parents says.
The center announced just after 10:30 a.m. that the school was closing for the day, students would be dismissed shortly, and buses were on their way to ;school.
The investigation is ongoing and more details will be provided as they become available.
