Toyota Corolla traveled 2 million km without changing the engine and gearbox

The Toyota Corolla station wagon has been delivering newspapers in New Zealand for 22 years. It drives 5,000 km a week and is serviced with an oil change twice a month.

A 1993 Toyota Corolla with a record mileage is found in New Zealand. The car has already covered over 2 million kilometers and continues to drive. The NZ Herald writes about this.

Toyota's high mileage is explained by the work of its owner – New Zealander Graham Hebley delivers newspapers daily. He decided to buy a Toyota Corolla back in 2000, and he opted for a 1993 station wagon imported from Japan. At the time of purchase, the car has driven about 80,000 km.

The car was used very actively – Graham Hebley drives it on average 5000 km per week. And once every two weeks (every 10,000 km) he visits the service station for a scheduled check and oil change with filters.

The New Zealander considers regular maintenance to be the key to Toyota's longevity. Surprisingly, the car still has the original engine and gearbox. They have been overhauled but never changed. At the same time, the timing belt on the Toyota Corolla was changed more than 20 times, and new wheel bearings had to be installed.

Toyota Corolla station wagon is in good condition, despite the high mileage. He continues to drive and does not present unpleasant surprises to the owner.
