On Saturday, May 21, in Turkish Alania (a city in the silt (region) of Antalya), a citizen of Ukraine killed two of his young children – a 4-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter. The suspect's wife was able to escape to the bathroom. This was reported by the Turkish daily newspaper Сumhuriyet, in a publication entitled “He fled the war and received asylum in Turkey: a Ukrainian killed two children and wounded his wife.”
According to journalists, a family from Ukraine settled in an apartment hotel in Alanya. The article does not indicate their names, but gives their initials: O.N. – for a man and Y.N. – for woman. The children are also named with initials: N and K.
Presumably, a quarrel broke out between the spouses in the morning, a 38-year-old Ukrainian attacked his wife with a knife, wounded her and stabbed her children. The woman managed to escape and hide in the bathroom. According to the publication, the screams of the victim were heard by his parents, who were in the next room, and called the police.
“The police squad arrived at the address and found O.N. sitting next to the lifeless bodies of children and his wounded wife. He was taken into custody,” – reporters say.
The victim with cuts on her arm was taken to a local hospital.
Relevant information has also appeared in the public “Turkey Alania” on Facebook. User Uma Gelbakh wrote in the comments to the post: “They are from Kharkov. Such a wonderful girl was Tanya [the supposed name of her daughter], sociable. I can’t even believe that yesterday she played with the children, today she is gone. Her father was in deep depression, took antidepressants “.
The Kharkiv edition of Newsroom, in turn, reports, citing its own sources, that the suspect may be the ex-deputy of the Kharkiv City Council Oleksiy Navrotsky (age and initials are the same). From 2009 to 2014, Navrotsky worked in the apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada as an assistant to the people's deputy. He was twice elected to the Kharkiv District Council, and in 2015 he was elected to the Kharkiv City Council. Prior to the invasion of the Russian Federation, he served as vice-rector for scientific work of KhNU. Karazin. Since March, he has been on vacation at his own expense.
There is no official confirmation of Navrotsky's involvement in the tragic incident in Antalya yet.
