Triple homicide in a fire in Brossard

It was the triggering of a fire alarm that led the Longueuil agglomeration fire safety service (SSIAL) at the scene of the event.

A woman and her two children died following a fire in a residential tower in Brossard, Montérégie.

It was the triggering of a fire alarm that led the emergency services, around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, to the scene in question, a dwelling located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, near rue Saint-Charles.

The three victims were found unconscious.

They were taken to hospital, where the 38-year-old woman was pronounced dead. Later, the death of the 2 children, aged 5 and 2 respectively, who were in critical condition, was also announced.

According to the Service de police de l'agglomeration de Longueuil (SPAL), it is a triple homicide.

A man had to elsewhere was arrested at the scene, but the police have not established any link between him and the victims.

He is currently considered an important witness and he is met by our police, said agent François Boucher, spokesperson for SPAL.

The police did not reveal whether traces of violence were found on the bodies of the victims, so as not to interfere with the ongoing investigation.

As for the fire, this one did not require the complete evacuation of the apartment tower, as damage was limited to the family's apartment.

L& #x27;SPAL's investigation is continuing in order to clarify the circumstances of this event.
