Turkey signed a military agreement with Niger to settle in the region bordering the territory of Libya. Reports BAGNET, reported Middle East Monitor.
According to the newspaper, Ankara is interested in military cooperation in order to have a ground base in case the expected confrontation with Egypt in Libya. The agreement was signed between the Turkish foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, and President of the Niger Mahamadou Yssouf during the discussion of the tense situation in the region.
Cavusoglu in conversation with the leader of the African Republic also expressed Turkey’s intention to help Niger in the development of transport, construction, energy, mining and agriculture.
