Two people died after a plane crash near Shaunavon
Shaunavon is a town of about 1700 people in Saskatchewan.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada confirmed on Tuesday that two people died over the weekend in a plane crash near Shaunavon, a community about 350 km southwest of Regina.
Federal agency says pipeline inspection flight crashed 7 miles southwest of Shaunavon.
The flight took off from Swift Current Sunday morning, bound for Estevan. The time of the crash was not specified.
Authorities say a fire occurred after the crash , and both people on board the plane died.
Two investigators from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada were dispatched to the scene from Winnipeg and arrived Monday.
They are expected to return to the accident scene on Tuesday to continue gathering information.
