The Parliament of Ukraine approved this Friday a law for the Voluntary enlistment of women in the Army, while military operations intensifyafter Russia announced weeks ago the mobilization of some 300,000 reservists.
The proposal has been approved with 297 votes in favor in a Ukrainian Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, in which There is full consensus after the departure of the main party opposed to the Government, Opposition Platform for Life, suspended after being classified as pro-Russian.
The deputy of Holos (Voice) Yaroslav Zhelezniakhas explained that the new law provides for that women may enlist voluntarily if due to health or age they are suitable for military service, as well as if your activity or profession appears on the list drawn up by the Ministry of Defense to facilitate access.
In October 2021, the Ukrainian authorities extended the list of specialties and professions carried out by women between 18 and 60 years of age with which to apply for voluntary entry into military service, such as restaurants, banking, programmers, lawyers, journalists, publicists, musicians, social workers, or hotel workers.
