Ukrainian film wins Hong Kong film festival

Mother of the Apostles is dedicated to women , whose sons went to war for Ukraine in 2014.

The Ukrainian film Mother of the Apostles received the main award of the Asia Film Art International Film Festival in Hong Kong. This was reported by the State Film Agency of Ukraine on Facebook.

The film, the plot of which is dedicated to the mothers of our defenders who fought for Ukraine in 2014, won first place among works from Germany, Japan, China, India, the United States and Hong Kong .

“For Ukraine and for us, the filmmakers, this victory is very important and symbolic. Today, Ukraine is going through difficult times. Ukrainians pay an exorbitant price for the independence of their state. We, representatives of the Ukrainian film community, have a great responsibility to bear truthful Ukrainian narrative to the world,” said film producer Dmitry Ovechkin.

It is noted that the dramatic film is based on the story of a woman named Sophia, who learns that her son's plane was shot down. She embarks on a dangerous journey in which no one can tell if her child survived. On this difficult path, she changes everyone she meets, and her despair and pain are reborn into the eternal mother spirit of the earth.
