Allegations of questionable acts by a student-athlete have been brought to the attention of the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR). The institution claims to support the people involved in the case while trying to clarify the facts.

A Patriotes hockey player would have created an Instagram account on which he noted women, according to VAT. Management was made aware of the situation on Friday.

“Due to the seriousness of the allegations, it was taken very seriously. We took action right away. »

— Jean-François Hinse, communication advisor at UQTR

We met different people and we started an investigation, if you want, to try to know a little more about the file, says the communication advisor at UQTR, Jean-François Hinse.

The young man has not been officially suspended, but the University claims to have some measures in place. We are currently making an agreement to ensure that the people involved in the dispute do not meet in different departments or different activities so that, of course, it does not harm the atmosphere or the process that is underway, explained Mr. Hinse in an interview on the show Toujours le matin.

The UQTR says to accompany the person targeted by the allegations as well as the people involved or shaken by the situation.

The counselor communication Jean-François Hinse says that people are informed of the different options available, including a complaint to the police, and get support.

He adds that the University will have to determine whether the student's behavior violates the policies of the institution, which the spokesperson most certainly could, if the alleged facts are true.
