According to Reuters, US State Department spokesman Ned Price has commented that Turkey's requirements in the NATO and Swedish NATO application process are not US Bilateral issue between Turkey and Turkey.
Price added that the US is in talks with Turkey and remains confident that a solution will be found to the dispute.
Finland and Sweden applied for NATO membership last Wednesday.
Turkey soon surprised other NATO countries on Wednesday by announcing its opposition to Finland's and Sweden's membership of NATO.
Turkey made demands on Finland and Sweden in connection with, among other things, the activities of the PKK in the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
The problem is officially between Sweden, Finland and Turkey. However, it is widely believed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is taking advantage of the situation to put pressure on the United States in Turkey's long-standing demands on the country.
These include ending U.S. support to Kurdish armed forces in Syria and the lifting of arms export restrictions on Turkey.
