Volkswagen has created a new Scout brand for the production of powerful electric SUVs and pickups. The cars will be produced in the USA from 2026.
New teasers of the Scout electric SUV have hit the Internet. The new model from the Volkswagen concern should appear in 2026. Its first details were revealed on the official website of the brand.
The Scout brand was created by a German concern for the production of electric SUVs. The cars will be manufactured in the USA and they will be a kind of successor to the American model International Harvester Scout, which was produced from 1961 to 1980. Volkswagen has bought the rights to this trademark.
Judging by the teasers, the electric SUV is very reminiscent of the famous ancestor. It has a distinctive silhouette with a high hood and curved C-pillars. Also on the images you can see off-road tires and a three-seater front sofa in the cabin, sheathed in white leather.
The characteristics of the Scout are still kept secret. It is stated that along with the SUV there will also be a pickup truck. Electric vehicles will be built on a completely new platform, with the main focus on cross-country ability.
The Scout SUV will compete with the electric Gelendvagen and the Rivian R1T, while the pickup truck will challenge the Ford F-150 Lightning, RAM 1500 Revolution and Tesla Cybertruck.
