Ce lundi 6 janvier, plusieurs membres de la coordination rurale 34 étaient à Paris pour manifester leur colère.

“They were arrested at the Ministry of Justice”, says Arnaud Poitrine, Secretary General of the Rural Coordination 34. Like many of their comrades, several farmers from Béziers traveled to Paris, taking to the road on the night of Sunday 5 to Monday 6 January.

While they wanted to gather to denounce the trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur, several dozen tractors were intercepted by the police, who prevented them from gathering.

“They were escorted to the exit of Paris”

This is not the case for the farmers of the Rural Coordination 34, who, themselves, reached the Eiffel Tower. “Some had yellow caps so they were fined 135 euros for distinctive signs of demonstration or I don't know what, he continues. Then, they were kindly escorted to the exit of Paris by the police around noon.” A meeting should therefore take place quickly between the members of the rural coordination 34 to determine the continuation of the mobilizations because “We are not going to let this kind of thing go, we are not heard and on top of that we are treated like pariahs”, concludes Arnaud Poitrine.
