Today, Thierry Beccaro continues to fight against his demons, notably thanks to the support of his wife. “My wife had this great reflex to tell me one day: You have to see someone”, he explains. When you have experienced a traumatic past, our loved ones do not necessarily understand our pain, our reactions… Hence the importance of talking about it.
“All those who have experienced abuse, those who have been cast aside, those to whom no one has said “I love you”, have a lot of trouble saying “I love you”, appreciating happiness, being joyful, being carefree… Except that the person in front of you cannot understand all the time what is happening to you”, he specifies.
Thierry Beccaro: “End my life…”
When he presented the show Motus, Thierry Beccaro admitted to having already had anxiety attacks.“But I never wanted it to show. I turned this misfortune into a wonderful misfortune“, he continued. In his head, he kept repeating the same sentences: “There's always someone worse than you, so you're going to give them pleasure and smiles. You're not going to forget where you come from, that's going to let you know where you're going”.
For a long time, the French actor has already had some “dark thoughts”. Suicide ? “We can think about it”, he confides, but “writing allowed me to evacuate these bad thoughts”. “To end my life… I'm going to hurt others, those who love me. I'm going to punish them and I think there are other ways, like therapy, to try to get better and make the backpack lighter. But it's still there,” he concludes.
