With over 60 million downloads in just two months of existence, Pokémon Pocket is establishing itself as one of the major successes of 2024 on the mobile (and video game) market. However, the trading feature (one of the very foundations of the Pokémon spirit) is still not available. Recently, we mentioned our fears regarding certain restrictions of this same feature, but we now know when it will be available, as well as the associated restrictions.

Pokémon Pocket, trades yes, but…

Enough suspense, it is from this Wednesday, January 29, 2025 that the exchange function will be available for Pokémon Pocket. The developer specifies that a new extension, called Space-Time Shock, will also be available in the game the next day. Obviously, the exchange function, as its name suggests, will allow players to exchange their digital Pokémon cards with their loved ones and thus complete their card collection more easily.

BUT! As we mentioned a few days ago, there are some restrictions that come into the equation. So, two types of items will be needed to exchange cards of rarity 1 to 4 ♦ and 1 ★ for cards of equivalent rarity: Exchange Hourglasses and Exchange Tokens.

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

Additionally, at launch, the trading feature will be limited to cards from Genetic Power and Mythic Island boosters.

The Pokémon Company says this selection will be expanded in future updates, but many players are already worried about the excessive monetization of this trading feature. Stay tuned.

As for the new expansion, players will be able to discover several Pokémon cards from the Sinnoh region thanks to the new Pokémon Pocket Trading Card Game expansion: Space and Time Clash. It will include two digital booster packs featuring the Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia. It's also an opportunity to meet Lucario again, as well as the three starter Pokémon from the Sinnoh region: Tortipouss, Ouisticram and Piplup.
