We know the closing date of the Wii U and 3DS virtual game stores

Nintendo 3DS had been launched in 2011, then ceased to be on the market in 2020.

Nintendo has announced March 27, 2023 as the last day to access its electronic store through Wii U and 3DS.

This closure will come just over six years after the launch of the Nintendo Switch, which replaced both consoles on the market in 2017.

Although buying games on the online store (eShop) will no longer be accessible on Wii U and 3DS at co mpter from next March, Nintendo reminded that funds can still be added to accounts with a gift card until August 29, 2022. The video game giant had already announced this news last February.

This closure only affects the purchase of new content. It will remain possible for a person to download a game that they have already purchased, even after the closure.

A game will however be removed from the online store before the fateful date, i.e. < em>Fire Emblem: Fates, which will no longer be purchasable from February 28, 2023. The game's additional content, which can be accessed after completing the sixth chapter of the story, will however be offered until March 27.
