The new Volvo EX30 will be the Swedish brand's most affordable electric car. Compact urban electric crossover will be a close relative of Smart #1.
Volvo's electric range will be expanded with a new entry-level model. It will be called the EX30 and will appear in the coming years. This became known to the British edition of Auto Express.
At the moment, there are two electric vehicles in the Volvo model range – the XC40 Recharge and the C40. Already on November 9, the Volvo EX90 flagship electric crossover will be presented, and the affordable EX30 will soon follow. A Swedish company has recently registered the rights to this name.
The new Volvo EX30 will be a compact urban crossover with a length of about 4.2-4.3 m and a cost of approximately 35,000 euros. Judging by the first renders, the electric car will retain the Swedish brand's signature faceted design.
The Volvo electric car will be built on the SEA modular platform, developed jointly with Geely. It allows you to create electric cars of various sizes: it is used by both the compact Smart #1 crossover and the luxurious 5.2-meter Zeekr 009 minivan. 66 kWh battery. The power reserve will be about the same as that of a German electric car – about 440 km. Charging in fast mode to 80% will take 35 minutes.
