Analysts are confident that North Korea wants to take advantage of the fact that the world is distracted by the war in Ukraine and other crises to create more effective weapons of mass destruction.
North Korea has launched another ballistic missile attack towards the east coast. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea.
It is noted that this is the fourth missile launch that Pyongyang carried out this week. This increases the tension on the Korean Peninsula much more.
The material says that the launch of the missiles took place after the naval exercises of South Korea, the United States and Japan.
According to a professor at Ewha University in Seoul Leif-Erik Isley, North Korea is rapidly modernizing weapons and enjoying the benefits of a world divided by US-China rivalry and Russia's annexation of Ukrainian territories.
North Korea's nuclear tests and ballistic missile launches have long been banned by the UN Security Council. As early as October, the DPRK may conduct nuclear tests.
“The missile launch highlights the destabilizing effect of the DPRK's illegal programs for the production of weapons of mass destruction,” the US military command said in a statement.
We also recall that that Seoul said that after a preventive nuclear strike, North Korea would self-destruct. To dissuade Kim Jong-un from using nuclear weapons, South Korea, together with the United States, will expand its own capabilities for pre-emptive and retaliatory strikes, as well as missile defense.
