A woman dies after collision between two vehicles in Winnipeg

Police say the victims and suspect did not know each other and the attacks were unprovoked.

A collision between two vehicles that occurred early Saturday on Inkster Boulevard and the King Edward Street in Winnipeg resulted in the death of a woman, police say.

Police responded to the call about the crash at around 12:30 a.m., according to a press release from law enforcement, adding that paramedics were already at the scene.< /p>

The driver of one of the two cars who is not yet identified has died of her injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 21-year-old man, was taken to hospital in stable condition, police said.

Shortly before 8 a.m. police said in a Twitter post that traffic has been closed in all directions on King Edward between Kinver and Garton Avenues, and on Inkster between Groverdale Avenue and Keewatin Street.

Police request Anyone with information, including dashcam footage of the crash, to contact the Traffic Division at 204-986-7085 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS).
