Anne, a 53-year-old interior designer, gave her testimony in Sept à huit on TF1 this Sunday, January 12, 2025. She says she was the victim of a huge scam on social networks: a scammer took 830,000 euros from her by pretending to be a Brad Pitt in love with her.

The report of “Sept à huit” is definitely causing a lot of talk. Named Anne and filmed on camera, the victim aged around fifty says she paid 830,000 euros to scammers who pretended to be Brad Pitt by sending her fake selfies, falsified identity documents and using artificial intelligence to dispel her doubts.

Pretending to need money to pay for an operation for kidney cancer, the fake Brad Pitt managed to extort large sums from this woman, who is now ruined and has attempted suicide three times. According to the report from “Sept à Huit”, she filed a complaint and is currently hospitalized in an institution specializing in severe depression.

The sequence was removed from all platforms due to the wave of cyberbullying that Anne was the victim of. Among the Internet users mocking his supposed credulity, the Toulouse football club and Netflix are notably singled out.

TFC's apologies

TFC thus posted on X a message accompanied by a photomontage challenging the victim and making fun of his fate: “Hello Anne, Brad told us he would be at the Stadium on Wednesday for #TFCLAVAL. And you?“.

Under fire from critics, the L1 club then backtracked by presenting its “sincere excuses”.

Netflix posted a message on X listing four films available on its platform featuring the American star. “4 films to see with Brad Pitt (promise) it's a gift”, indicates the message.

The comedian and columnist for France Inter, Mathieu Noël, made fun of Anne's fate in his post on the morning show on Tuesday.
