The Roam Air electric motorcycle costs just $1,500 in its basic version. The bike has a very simple design and reliable durable suspension.
The Kenyan company Roam has introduced an electric motorcycle Air. Its sales will start in 2023 at prices ranging from $1,500 to $2,050. New Atlas writes about this.
Roam Air was not only Africa's first electric bike, but also the world's cheapest electric bike. The budget model is planned to be produced in large quantities and actively exported to other countries.
The electric motorcycle is designed for riding on bad roads and light off-road. It has off-road tires with a deep tread and a reliable, durable suspension with a simple design. Roam Air is based on a lightweight steel frame.
The equipment includes LED optics and a digital instrument panel. Instead of a gas tank, the motorcycle has a compartment for small luggage.
The Roam Air electric bike is quite light – it weighs 135 kg. It is capable of developing 90 km/h, and it accelerates to this speed in just 5 seconds. The power plant has five different operating modes.
There are versions with one and two quick-detachable batteries with a capacity of 3.24 kWh each. The power reserve is 90 and 180 km, respectively. In operation, the motorcycle turned out to be cheaper than a scooter with a 150 cc gasoline engine.
