Yoshua Bengio among the most influential scientists in the world, according to a ranking

Yoshua Bengio received the Turing Prize in 2018, considered the Nobel Prize in Computer Science.

Montreal scientist Yoshua Bengio, researcher and founder of the Quebec Institute for Artificial Intelligence (AI ) Mila Quebec, strengthens its position as a world leader. This is according to a list published by Stanford University in California, which annually lists the most recognized and influential researchers in the world.

The Quebec AI specialist slipped into third position on this list for 2022, which includes all categories in scientific research.

Aggregated by Professor John PA Loannidis and his team with the help of bibliometric data from the Scopus database, this list of the most recognized researchers and fields of research is the reference on the subject, says the Mila Quebec website, whose the head office is in Montreal.

The first two ranks of the list are occupied by the Chinese-American physicist Lin Zhong Wang, specialized in nanotechnology, and the Austrian Georg Kresse, whose expertise relates to the numerical physics of materials.

The fields of study of artificial intelligence, along with image analysis, are among the most popular research topics on the list, followed by applied physics and general and internal medicine.< /p>
