Bluesky's turn to play it like TikTok

Obviously, for many users, this means (not permanently deleting your X account, you never know…) pausing your X account, and going to find refuge on an alternative network, and very often a certain Bluesky. And while the future of TikTok still seems a little uncertain, despite its recent reestablishment in the United States, the network with the little butterfly has decided to implement a function directly inspired by the Chinese network.

The Bluesky mobile application now has a trending videos section in the Explore tab. And as with any other self-respecting short-form video app, the user is cordially invited to swipe up to see even more videos. “You can pin the feed to display it on your home screen or add it to your feed list” says Bluesky.

Concretely, this new functionality allows you to watch so-called “~60 videos ~em>trend” in full screen, in vertical format. A swipe up, and we move on to the next video. The principle is far from new, since it is probably this activity that you indulge in (in particular) in the evening, on YouTube with Shorts, on Instagram with Reels or even on TikTok of course.

With the uncertainty surrounding TikTok and other ByteDance applications, not to mention the movements on the X network, Bluesky saw its user base cross the 28 million mark over the weekend. It remains to be seen whether they will manage to find their place on this new network, or whether they will soon return to the dark side of the force.

It should be noted that this same X network has just announced a new tab dedicated to videos!
