2025: The year of all records for electric cars ?

2024 will certainly not be a year to remember in the history of the electric car. This is because sales have really stalled in recent months, with the first drop in the number of registrations in its history. But fortunately, this bad patch is over. Several studies assure that 2025 will be flourishing.

In its latest report on the subject, the consulting firm C-Ways explains that sales of electric cars should experience strong growth in France in 2025. In fact, it expects a 32% increase in sales among individuals, thus exceeding 30% market share. For comparison, it was only 22% in 2024.

The arrival of French manufacturers will change the situation

According to C-Way, 30% of registrations made in 2025 will be electric cars. This crazy growth compared to 2024 can be explained in several ways, starting with the arrival of new manufacturers on the electric car market.

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

This is particularly the case for Renault and its new version of the R5, 100% electric. With this iconic model for millions of French people, the diamond brand should win the hearts of many individuals. Citroën, for its part, could make good figures in 2025, particularly with its ë-C3.

The aid is disappearing one by one

At the same time, government aid for the ecological transition is disappearing one after the other. The ecological bonus will still be there in 2025 but it will only represent 2,000 euros (or 4,000 euros for low-income households).

The conversion bonus is going to bid us farewell. Despite the departure of this financial aid, the C-Way firm assures that “the transition is underway” and that the effects of this aid on sales should not be felt in the coming months.

The drop in the ecological bonus in 2024 had however been singled out by many experts as the main reason for the slowdown in sales of electric cars. It is therefore difficult to imagine that a reduction in aid will not have an impact on the market the following year.
