Filming was difficult for Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves is known for his tenacity and resilience, but it's often overlooked that he underwent spinal cord surgery shortly before the filming of the movie. This was to treat actor's difficulties in maintaining his balance.

He was still able to play his role as Neo, and didn't feel any discomfort in scenes that didn't require any strenuous movements. The clothes used were very cheap

Screenrantinforms us that the unique outfits that became the trademark of The Matrix were actually very cheap, partly due to budgetary reasons. Trinity's clothes are made from PVC, a very cheap synthetic plastic, while Neo's coat is made from cheap wool. In any case, the latter are now very well established in popular culture.

The cast was forced to read philosophy books before filming

Indie Wire reports that the Wachowski sisters gave the actors intensive philosophy courses. They had to read the book by the Frenchman Jean Baudrillard ” Simulacres et simulation “ which examines the relationship between reality and symbols and the way in which culture and the media construct an understanding of humanity's common world.

Some actors did not understand anything about the script

But that’s not the case for Laurence Fishburne who didn’t really see why his colleagues didn’t understand the pitch.
