50 years of the MHSC: portraits, interviews, unpublished photos... our special special edition is arriving on newsstands

We don't turn 50 every day. And few clubs can boast of having marked the history of their sport in such a short slice of life. Because Montpellier Hérault is a youngster on the Ligue 1 map compared to a centenarian like Le Havre or big names who are close to or have exceeded 70 seasons in the elite (OM, Saint-Etienne, Lyon, etc.).

This did not prevent the club founded in 1974 by Louis Nicollin from having done everything and (almost) won everything throughout its prodigious history. Because we have already told you about it from almost every angle, this epic deserved a tribute worthy of the event. There is no better way to revisit it in depth than to have it told by those who wrote the legend of this club.

Our 50 who left an indelible mark

The great novel of the MHSC nourished by the little stories, these backstages and these anecdotes which say so much about the unique DNA of a great family born to travel in a balloon without ever deviating from its flight plan.

5 € for 84 pages full of surprises

84 glossy pages, dozens of unpublished photos, large-format portraits and interviews… In addition to the essential tribute to be discovered on newsstands from this Wednesday, December 11, our special issue has a few surprises in store for you: an interview with Michel Platini who talks about his friend Loulou, our Internet users' vote to designate the best players, players and coaches of all time, or even the perspective of former Midi Libre writers and the drawings of Dadou, the essential Hérault cartoonist, crazy about MHSC.

84 pages on glossy paper. Midi Libre

We have therefore selected “our 50” who made the MHSC. A collective but necessarily arbitrary choice, based above all on the trace left by all these actors, historical builders, players or coaches. Some essential, others a little forgotten.

The tender testimony of Colette Nicollin

From Fleury Di Nallo to Téji Savanier, from Jean-Marc Valadier to Younès Belhanda, from Robert Nouzaret to Michel Der Zakarian. Talents from here and elsewhere, born pailladins or who became so over the course of fusion evenings in the cauldron of La Mosson.

Everything necessarily starts with the trajectory of a man – Louis Nicollin – with an exceptional destiny told here by his sons and his wife Colette. A poignant testimony, full of tenderness marked by sincerity.

Giroud: “still goosebumps”

To serve the exclusive interviews, those of Michel Mézy, René Girard, Thierry Laurey, Vitorino Hilton, Marion Torrent, Olivier Giroud… we needed unpublished documents, exhumed from our archives like sleeping nuggets.

We find Loulou's paternal attachment to his players, a fusion bond immortalized in black and white. From buried photos of the beginnings to unforgettable ones of legendary matches, including the hours of jubilation of the big titles.

Dates, figures, records…

Not forgetting the big dates, all the figures and records of these five prodigious decades. Nor the almost biblical genesis of the Butte, this piece of land that has become the essential stand where the heart of La Mosson beats.

A must-have collector's item at a very low price (€5) to warm your supporter's heart in the evening by the fire. And to place at the foot of the tree.
