It was August 22, 2022. That morning, residents of the four boulevards (Berthelot, Vieussens, Rabelais and d’Orient) saw a flood of vehicles due to the closure of Avenue Albert-Dubout.

“The decision to close Dubout was made without consultation and without an impact study, deplores Etienne Dombre, member of the board of directors of the Quatre Boulevards association. We are asking that the temporary orders to implement a new traffic plan, at the end of 2022 and the end of 2023, be suspended.”

“We have made two interim relief orders (emergency procedures) which were rejected by the administrative court. On the other hand, we still have a procedure in progress on the merits of the case. We regret having to continue such a long and financially very impactful legal procedure”.

“Over the past two years, the number of vehicles has tripled on our boulevards and nitrogen oxide pollution has exploded. We no longer open our windows and we no longer even enjoy our balconies.”

A new school in September 2025 on the boulevards

“Over the past two years, a representative of the collective has recorded 62 accidents on the four boulevards, Corryne Basagana protests. That's huge, knowing that not all of them are recorded. I've already almost been run over twice at bike.”

“The bridge over the railway tracks is particularly dangerous for children in the morning. Two strollers cannot pass each other because of the narrow sidewalks.”

“Currently built on the boulevard Vieussens which is polluted, accident-prone and noisy, the new school will eventually accommodate 250 students. Families will have to travel a long distance to get there.”
