This is the first passage in the Alps which is on the program with the ascent of legendary passes. Today's stage will be explosive with 139 kilometers and four passes will be up for grabs. climb, including those of Sestrières (2 035 m) and Galibier (2 642 m). The runners will first complete 70 kilometers on Italian soil, from Pinerolo, before (finally) returning to France. The slopes of Sestrières (39.9 km & at 3.7 %, 2 035 m) will be a very long appetizer for the runners. The Col de Montgen&evre, second difficulty of the day (km 71) will allow you to switch to France. The peloton will then have to climb the Col du Galibier (23 km at 5.1%, 2642 m) to reach Valloire. If a big battle is planned, the downhill finish could "spoil" a bit of a spectacle.
