This July 14, the presidents of the Ligue 1 clubs chose to award the TV rights for the championship to the DAZN-BeIN Sport duo. A decision validated by the Professional Football League (LFP). If the amount of the offers is not yet known, the first rumors in the corridors raise fears of a drastic increase in prices compared to Prime Video…

Around fifty euros to access the entire Ligue 1 ?

From 2021 to May 2024, the Amazon's streaming service offered the Ligue 1 Pass at 12.99 euros per month. It broadcast 7 weekly meetings, while the other two were distributed by Canal+. Prices will certainly increase this season, and for several years.

DAZN, which receives 8 matches per week, could offer a subscription of several tens of euros, according to several media. The sports streaming service would have mentioned a subscription of 40 euros per month without commitment, or 30 euros if commitment of 12 months, reports RMC Sport. Those who wish to watch all Ligue 1 matches will also have to spend 15 euros per month to subscribe to BeIN Sports.

As a result, fans of the French championship could be faced with a monthly expense of around fifty euros to access all the matches. This sum is likely to provoke in-depth reflection among many supporters…

It is important to note that these prices are not final. DAZN, still very discreet in France, operates abroad by offering varied packages. In Spain, for example, a subscription of 9.99 euros per month gives access to the women's football championships and the Women's Champions League. Another offer, including five La Liga matches, the Premier League, F1 and MotoGP, is available at 29.99 euros per month.

Canal+ could also join in the dance. The French giant has reportedly started discussions with DAZN and BeIN Sport, with whom it already has a partnership, to broadcast all of the matches via its platform. The outlines of such an agreement, if it sees the light of day, remain very vague to this day.

As a reminder, DAZN spent around 400 million euros to obtain the rights to Ligue 1, compared to 100 million euros for BeIN Sports. Initially, the president of the LFP League, Vincent Labrune, hoped for an agreement around 1 billion euros. In recent times, the majority of leaders have for their part been in favor of the creation of a 100% Ligue 1 channel.

The situation has plunged several clubs into financial uncertainty, some being particularly timid on the transfer market one month before the resumption of the championship.
