Certain series have left their mark on the history of pop culture. The production of a nugget, however, relies on a fragile balance that is often unknown to the general public. From casting to script choices, including enmities or moments of grace, the destiny of a creation sometimes reveals real surprises. Here are 4 secrets from filming Game of Thrones, the series by D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, adapted from the books by George R. R. Martin.

A beautiful story of friendship
The filming of Game of Thrones lasted several years. Logically, strong friendships were born on this occasion, like that between Sophie Turner (Sansa Starck) and Maisie Williams (Arya Starck).
The two British actresses have long been inseparable to the point that IGNexplains that Sophie Turner asked Maisie Williams to be a bridesmaid at her wedding to Joe Jonas. The two women even got a joint tattoo marking the day they were accepted into the GOT cast: “07.08.09”.

For the first seasons, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff could rely on the solid story of the previously published writer. But the series ended up surpassing the books, and the two creators therefore had to approach George R. R. Martin to try to find out what he was planning.
The latter provided them with an overview without necessarily going into detail. Evil tongues will say that this is perhaps the reason why the last two seasons did not quite live up to public expectations.
Game of Thrones, musicians' paradise
There are countless musician cameos in this HBO production. We can notably cite the drummer of Coldplay, the singer of Snow Patrol. And how can we not mention the notable participation of Ed Sheeran in an episode that will be remembered.
The beautiful gesture of Sophie Turner
In the first season of the Lady series, the Starcks' dog is very quickly killed on the orders of Cersei Lannister. In real life, the latter's name is Zunni and she was even adopted by Sophie Turner and her family.
The actress explained this to the Coventry Telegraph : “Growing up, I always wanted a dog, but my parents didn’t want one. We fell in love with Lady, my character's wolf, on set. (…) My mother persuaded them to let us adopt him”.
