“All retirement pensions will soon increase, here are the new amounts “planned”
All retirees will benefit from this upcoming increase.
Retirement pensions will soon be increased. In a few weeks, around 15 million retirees will receive a little more money each month. These French people who have retired from the world of work are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the upcoming increase because, for them, it is impossible to negotiate the amount of their pension. Whether for the basic pension or the supplementary pension, one thing is certain, increases will inevitably take place.
However, we should not expect levels as high as these last two years. Some will very probably be disappointed, but the increase will be almost marginal. Although the final data for calculating the amount of future pensions are not yet known, the indicators for the first six months of the year are sufficiently relevant to understand the overall trend.

First, the 13 million retirees receiving a pension from Agirc-Arco will benefit from a revaluation. As every year, the private sector's supplementary pension fund plans to index pensions to inflation… or almost. In fact, since last year, 0.4 points have been subtracted from the change in the price index (excluding tobacco) known between October of the previous year and September of the current year.
At this stage, inflation is around 2%, according to the latest data from INSEE, published at the beginning of June. By applying the calculation formula now in force, the Agirc-Arco supplementary retirement pensions would therefore be revalued by 1.6% in the autumn. While the figures may still change, one thing is certain: the revaluation scale will be around 2%.
For a person receiving 800 euros per month from the supplementary fund, this will correspond to an increase of 12 to 16 euros per month, or between 144 and 192 euros more per year. This revaluation will not happen immediately. The final percentage increase will be decided in October, with application starting with pensions paid in early November.
Concerning the basic retirement pension, the order of magnitude will be similar to that of the supplementary pension. Although the calculation formula is more complex, an increase of around 2% is to be expected, from January 1, 2025. For 1000 euros of pension paid by the CNAV, the MSA, the SRE, the CNRACL, the FSPOEIE, the SSI or the CnavPL, the amount will increase to 1020 euros, or an additional 240 euros per year. However, basic pensions could receive an additional boost from the State. The decision will be up to the new government.
