2024 Olympics. France - Egypt: after two defeats, the Blues snatch a draw at the last second!

Égypte Live~6 0~h3 class=”app_edito_title_2″>21:00 – The summaryé of the match

After two defeats at the 2024 Olympics, the French handball players were condemned to react tonight against Egypt. In a very balanced start to the match, the Pharaohs were the first to make the difference thanks to a sparkling Ahmed Adel-Yahia Omar duo, not to mention the enormous match by goalkeeper Mohamed Aly! In the first half, the Blues were in an offensive breakdown, scoring only eleven goals (11-15, 30th). After the break, Guillaume Gile replaced Vincent Gérard with Remi Desbonnet, a saving entry that allowed the French to reduce the gap. While the Blues managed to equalize several times in money-time, they never managed to regain the advantage on the scoreboard.

At the end of the match, France only had eight seconds left to snatch a draw and the rest is history. Well served, Ludovic Fabregas lost the ball in the air before regaining control in a fraction of a second. The pivot deceived Mohamed Aly and allowed the Blues to stay alive in these home Olympics. If the Blues had enormous difficulty making the difference on the offensive side, the defensive sector remains satisfactory. Next match Friday against the Argentinians where it is absolutely necessary to win to play in a final against Hungary, hoping to reach the quarter-finals.
