If you're on vacation, you're probably taking as many photos as possible for your memories, or for social networks. And this year, you can take advantage of a new free Google Photos feature that will allow you to make significant edits, with very little effort: Magic Edit, which relies on artificial intelligence. This feature was launched at the end of 2023 by Google, for its Pixel 8 smartphone. Subsequently, it arrived on Google Photos, but only for paying users. And in April, Google announced that some of its photo editing features, including Magic Edit, would be free.
And recently, in a blog post, Google indicated that the free AI-powered editing features are now available to all Google Photos users (it appears to have taken a while to roll out). As you can see in the video below, magic retouching allows for example to move objects in a photo in a few gestures, and without using specialized software like Photoshop.

To use Google Photos Magic Edit, simply go to the mobile app, then open the photo you want to edit. Then, all you have to do is press the “Edit” button at the bottom, then the small button that changes color at the bottom left.

It should be noted that if Google's magic touch-up is available For free, users who do not have a Google One subscription (2TB or more) can only use this feature 10 times per month (10 recordings per month, to be precise).
