© Presse-citron

Google is fully into artificial intelligence and, like Microsoft, it is trying to bring the benefits of this technology to all its products and services. For example, this week, the firm announced a series of new features based on artificial intelligence for the Google Chrome browser. And among these new features, there is a new feature that will allow you to more easily find a link that is in your browsing history. For now, this new feature is only available in the United States. But Google's announcement suggests that it will be available in other countries sooner or later.< /p>

Concretely, thanks to artificial intelligence, it becomes possible to search for an element of the history by asking questions to artificial intelligence, instead of entering keywords. For example, you can ask which ice cream seller you visited last week. Thanks to this new conversational interface, your chances of finding the link you are looking for in your history increase. But it is also possible that some users are reluctant to use this feature. In any case, Google specifies that its AI will not take into account sites visited in private browsing mode. The firm indicates that it analyzes the URLs, titles and contents of the pages, to respond to user requests.

AI and Google Lens Comparison on Chrome

In addition to this AI that allows you to find links in the history, Google is also deploying an equivalent of the “circle to search” feature on Google Chrome. In essence, if the user comes across the image of an object that interests them, they will only have to drag and drop the Google Lens icon on the address bar, onto this object. Then, Lens will perform a search associated with this object, and will even allow the user to refine their search by adding keywords. Google Lens can also be invoked from the Google Chrome menu, or on the right-click menu.

Finally , Google is also launching an AI for Google Chrome which assists Internet users during online purchases. In short, when the user hesitates between several articles, opened on several tabs, Chrome will be able to suggest generating a comparison table of the articles present on these different tabs. But for the moment, this functionality is also reserved for the United States.

  • Google is deploying artificial intelligence everywhere in its ecosystem and the Chrome browser will not escape it
  • The company has just announced a series of new features, including an AI that allows you to search through your browsing history on Chrome and a new feature for Google Lens
  • However, this AI that allows you to find a link more easily in your history is still only available in the United States
